Jan 10 -- Saturday

I should have posted earlier, but I'll do an update on Sunday. I did a lot today, but I wasn't able to finish up on Jerry and the Pirates like I wanted to. :( It just sucks!!!

Jan. 9 -- Friday

Thank goodness that it's Friday! YAY! The only bad thing about today is that I've somehow hurt my knee. I don't know how I did it, but I did - and now, I've taken some muscle relaxers to try to help that out with the pain.

I've tried (not very hard though) to mix this evening, but found that I can't focus, probably because of the muscle relaxers. So... I'm going to pack it in for the evening and just pray that my leg will get better in the morning.

I will be working on JatP tomorrow to try to finish it up and get it all ready for Jerry. I know that he wants to ship it out sometime this next week, so, I want to get that done for him.

Today at school was fun though. We had fun playing Jeopardy with the kids. I have to finish up the Jeopardy game that I'm making for the Seniors. It's just way cool. I'm making a powerpoint so that I won't have to worry about making cards to flip through. The other classes were okay. I had fun doing them, too.

Oh... I did exercise this evening... more abdominal than legs (cuz of the knee) but I think that it's starting to get a bit easier. I just wish that I could start losing some weight. I think that I'm gainning muscle though. Here's to hoping!

Jan 8 -- Thursday

A bit of an update from the previous days:

Tuesday evening:

Well, I got home, settled down on the couch, began watching TV after some dinner and the next thing I know, I'm waking up to my daughter beating on meat for Wednesday night's meal. Talk about weird. I'm not a person who will just go to the couch, stretch out and take a nap. Naps only come on when I'm starting to or am sick. Matt even told me that he tried to wake me up to do pilates with them and that after one time of waking me up, he decided to just leave me alone. Wise man. I'm dealing with allergies and my lovely defenses to them. Needless to say, I woke up, meandered about a bit, took some medicine for a minor headache and went back to bed.

Wednesday (all day):

Yesterday was a long day. My body and allergies were kicking my butt, but it was around noon when I decided to check my email while I was at school. I found an e-mail from Jerry that said that he was bringin in a new editor and he's going to give Father Brown to the new editor to work on. I called Jerry and talked to him about his decision.

Of course, I was saddened to lose Father Brown. I have fun mixing those and JT Turner, the actor who plays Father Brown, is just a wonderful actor! A nut to be precise. Jerry wasn't putting down my ability - not by a long shot. It was more to give me time to finish up Moonfleet and then start up on the next season of Powder River. I'm going to be a busy busy beaver, that's for sure. Not only with Colonial but with Darker Projects as well. I'm going to be doing so much that I won't know what to do, I fear. But, I'll save that complaint for another blog.
So, after I ate, I worked on Jerry and the Pirates Episode 24. I got a good chunk of it all worked out - meaning, I was pitching voices and recalibrating the volume of the voices as I listened and made sure that they were all there. By eleven o'clock, I was exhausted and dragged my butt upstairs and went to bed.

Today:

As far as work went today, it was pretty good. Got to play a Jeopardy - Family Feud game with the kids as a review for their final over Romeo and Juliet. It's a wonderful game that we play with them to go over Romeo and Juliet. It was fun and I got to do it for three periods! I'm actually helping out with another one for Hamlet, but I have to read it and... and... Shakespeare is so hard to read! Good thing that it's for an AP Class.

On the way home I had an issue with my left contact. Not a good thing when you are driving. I HAVE to get new contacts.

Once I got home, it seemed that everything just went a little blewy. Kids kinda acted up - especially Meghan. I'm not going to have her talkback to me anymore. I need that paint-ball gun or something. Grrrrrr.

Sat down at nine to work on episode 24 of JATP and finally got through all the rebalancing and revoluming and pitching. So... now tomorrow I can go in and start putting in the SFX and getting people where they need to be for the FINAL episode. THEN, I can start working back on Moonfleet. I was actually about to write Father Brown.

But... bed calls.... and I need some sleep desperately. Perhaps if I just get more sleep, I wouldn't be so sleepy? Nah. Sleep may be overrated. *giggles* If it is or if it isn't, it really doesn't matter.

Jan 7 -- Wednesday

Too much to put down right now. Will update tomorrow. Must get some sleep. Sighs.

Jan 6 -- Tuesday

I woke this morning in a somewhat good mood, however, I felt bad.  My allergies are driving me nuts.  My head feels all cloggy and just stuffed up.  It doesn't help that I want to crawl back into bed and stay there most of the day.

I got to school this morning after I finished listening to a Pendant Production of Superman: The Lost Son Series 1.  It was a very interesting production.  Lois is already married to Clark.  I liked how in the action part of the audio production, it was described by the reporter on the scene.  It didn't make much sense about the antagonist not thinking through his plans.  Most antagonists tend to think through or is that JUST Lex Luther?  He seems to think through everything, but there is usually a flaw he missed.  Something that he wasn't expecting to happen.  Or was this just part of the writer's plan to keep the audience on the edge of their seats?  I'm not sure.  I'll have to wait and see when I listen to the next one.

For whatever reason, I'm extremely tired today.  I do know that I didn't sleep so hot, so maybe that's the cause.  I'm just very lethargic.

I have enough to do this evening creative wise to last me for awhile.  I have a few gifts that I'm working on, the audio to do and even some writing, if ever I get around to it.  The gifts I can work on while I'm away from the computer.... but the rest of it... well, it takes time and energy.  And right now, energy is something that I don't have.  Remember, lethargic.

Oh... Donna got me tickled today.  She bought a book over the break about vocabulary.  A new and different way to teach vocabulary to the kids of this day and age. Well... it's interesting... but it's rather... well, different.

Get this:  It's called:  The Yo Momma Vocabulary Builder  and it's written by Justin Heimberg, Christopher Schultz and Steve Harwood.  I'm NOT kidding.  Yo Momma Vocabulary.

The words are true vocabulary words that the kids need to know; however, they put this twist on it so that the kids will remember the words.

For example:  Acrophobic.  Acrophobic means afraid of heights.
So... the book says:  "Yo momma is so ACROPHOBIC, she fainted when she stepped onto the curb!"

Another:  Callous.  Callus means:  having or exhibiting a lack of care; covered with calluses.
The book:  "Yo momma's feet are so callous, when she walks on a wooden floor, it sounds like she's tap dancing!"

It gets the point across, but the thing is that it's kind of rude and socially unacceptable.  Funny... but... just wrong.  We don't want the kids to go out and start up with these type of jokes or sayings.  I can just see the fights starting with this.

I might be on my way home soon, so... I don't want to get anything started up here.  I do know that I'm going to have to read some of Hamlet and get that down so that I can help a fellow teacher out with a game for the seniors.  But Shakespeare and being lethargic do NOT go well together.  That's like... like... being sleepy and then being asked to read something like a manual for work.  Ugh.

Jan. 5.2 -- Monday

To continue on...

Third period wasn't much different (since I went back and forth between two different classes). We talked about Tone in English III and English I we talked about the review that we are going to be doing with the kiddos over Romeo and Juliet for their finals.

Lunch was pretty uneventful. I ate my soup and just decided to do my best to keep warm. It's cold in various rooms throughout the building. They can't keep a certain heat throughout and it doesn't help that they are renovating the front of the building - so it keeps it rather cool in the front of the building (where I have to walk most of the day going to and fro).

Fourth period was mostly the same. We (Donna and I) handed back out their work and talked with them about their journals that they are to write for the 9 weeks. They should have ten journals.

Fifth period was rather interesting. Mr. Justice had us going over the vocabulary that the kids are going to have a test over on Wednesday. Then, we took an online test on putting two sentences together. Kind of interesting.

Sixth period, I went back to Mr. Finnen's room and we did more stuff on Romeo and Juliet.

I then went and saw the assistant principal, Mrs. James. After telling her about the incident with Meghan (sneaking out at night) we looked at the weather and she told me to hook it home because it looked like maybe it might freeze. So... I went.

I got home safely only finding a few icy patches on the road. I got in, put my stuff down, changed clothes and then found myself laying down. I was feeling.... weird. Matt came home and we decided that we were going to do left overs (good grief, we have enough of them). Before we ate, I laid down on the couch and fell asleep.

What the heck? Fell asleep? I don't take naps. If I take a nap... I don't feel good. Even though I didn't feel up to it, I went ahead and did pilates and did 100 reps on the bowflex. I'm at least being consistent. Right? Isn't that the thing to do when dieting and exercising? Be consistent?

Ok... this is just a rant here... a small rant. I really will NOT hurt my daughter. I will not. Honest. However, I swear if this child touches that phone again, we will break it in half and then cut the line and when that doesn't work, I'm gonna take a .... a.... a ... paint ball gun and shoot her right between the eyes! I swear! This total lack of disrespect has got to come to an end!!!

What am I going to do now?

Oh... yeah... I got another couple of edits to do on Moonfleet Ep 6 and then Act 1 of Ep 6 will be done and I can move back to Jerry and the Pirates Ep 24. I think that I might just do those edits and be done for the night.

I had a feeling that coming back to school would be the end of the days of being able to mix for the majority of the day. Sucks. Oh well... it's life.

To the mix...

Jan 5 -- Monday

It's a week, yucky, cold day.  It's not supposed to get over 36 degrees and it's supposed to rain all day.  It makes it hard to teach when it's cold and rainy.  You just want to crawl back into bed and sleep all day.

First period was a little noisy.  They weren't really focused.  You know, they only wanted to catch up with each other.  I'm thinking that most of the day will be that way.

Second period is my PLC period (Professional Learning Community).  We didn't have to do anything in there today, so I came back to the room to just get stuff together.

It's sad that at 10:30 in the morning you are tired.  I guess that I'm not used to getting up at 5:30 anymore.  And I don't have any coffee... wah.

Jan 4.2 -- Sunday

I did get more done than I expected:

1) I did my lines for TamLynn Lostfynder: Case 4 ... and cut them for Gwen. They are being loaded on the server for her now.
2) I mixed a little on Lost Frontier.
3) I looked at the notes for Jerry and the Pirates and fixed them up and put them back on the server for Jerry to look at.
4) I got David's lines for Ep 6 of Moonfleet and cleaned them back up and redid the notes that I did for Moonfleet Ep 6 Act 1.
5) Exercised
and
6) Did all the duties that needed to be done around the house!

So... that's a lot for today, I think.

Now... work comes tomorrow at a now even earlier time to get up. So...

I'm off to bed.

Thank goodness for bed.

Jan 4 - Sunday

It's been an very uneventful day so far - I mean in the grand scheme of things. I have done some more lines for TamLynn Lostfynder, PI Case 4. I'll be sending those to Gwen pretty soon. The files are rather large and it's going to take some time getting them on the server.

Anywho... I got a message back from Jerry on Act 2 of Episode 23. I've got a few things to fix... but that's okay. I already emailed him back and let him know that I'll get it fixed and up on the server this afternoon, probably.

I don't really have a list of things to do today. I'm kinda playing it by ear to see what I can get done. Being sleepy and cold doesn't really help me out much either.

I do want to load a few audios on my mp3 player today so that I can have something to listen to on the way to and fro school tomorrow.

I just hope that we don't get the freezing rain that they were talking about. Brrrrrr. I want rain. Just not freezing rain.

So... let's just see what else I can get done today, shall we?
